_...Pledges Support for Boys Brigade, Receives Top Honor in the Group Council._


The Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Engr. Ishmael Oforibika MNSE, has been conferred with the title of Grand Patron of the Ogu-Bolo Group Council of the Boys Brigade, Rivers State Council, Boys Brigade Nigeria. His wife, Mrs. Bessie Oforibika, the First Lady of the council, was also honored as an Honorary Patron during the investiture ceremony.


















The event, which took place at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Ogu Town, was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including State Patrons of the Boys Brigade, the State Executive Council of the Boys Brigade, council appointees, political leaders, and other distinguished guests.







In his remarks, Hon. Oforibika expressed his gratitude for the recognition and pledged his commitment to supporting the Boys’ Brigade and its mission of nurturing young boys into responsible citizens. He emphasized that investing in the boy-child ministry was an investment in the future and stated his readiness to contribute to the growth of the organization.
The investiture ceremony featured a sermon delivered by Venerable Inumafikabo Davids, the Archdeacon of St. Martin’s Anglican Church, who highlighted the importance of discipline, service, and faith in molding the younger generation.





The event reinforced the council chairman’s dedication to youth development and his continuous efforts to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Ogu/Bolo Legislative Assembly hereby invites the following Nominees for Screening and Confirmation as Supervisors.

The supervisor nominees are;

The nominees are expected to appear before the Legislative Assembly at the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Legislative Chamber, Ogu on Thursday 13th February, 2025 by 10:00 am.

2. 3yrs tax clearance certificate

3. Age declaration or birth certificate

4. All educational certificate

Encourages workers to keep to their duties as they receive their new Salary increments 

In the customary monthly Thanksgiving service held on the first Monday of February, the Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Engr. Ishmael Oforibika MNSE, made a significant announcement approving the immediate payment of the new minimum wage to all council workers.  


The declaration was met with jubilation from the workers, who expressed their appreciation for the Chairman’s commitment to their welfare. Addressing the gathering, Engr. Oforibika declared February as the ‘Month of Light’ in Ogu/Bolo, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and enlightenment in shaping a progressive society.  



He further urged council workers to prioritize personal development, stating that 



“Knowledge brings light, and an enlightened workforce is a more productive and impactful one.”  


The event was marked by an atmosphere of gratitude as workers lauded the Chairman’s dedication to their well-being and his vision for a brighter and more informed Ogu/Bolo.
