LETTER TO WAKIRIKE POLITICIANS.

Last year, Rivers State was at a cross road not certain which way to go after the 2015 general election in the state, there was several litigations in the state which 22, house of assembly 12, reps and 3 senators lost their case in the court that calls for a rerun, there was a massive defections from PDP to APC for the fear of unknown until January, 27^th 2016 when our Amiable Governor Ezemwo Wike Won the case in the supreme court. Once again congratulations sir and I heartily congratulate you for turning Rivers State into a construction site and for your proactive nature, Rivers State have confident in your governance; our arms are open to partners with you in delivering the dividends of democracy  at any time.

        Once again Wakirike is at a cross road unsure which way to go, it is absolutely imperative that the Wakirike politicians work unanimously with the task of ensuring better Wakirike especially  now that the March 19^th  2016 rerun election is just at the corner. The gesture is necessary for it is quite impossible for any man to fight desperately and tirelessly for an unknown cause, let Wakirike politicians work together for the importance of good governance as true democrat. I therefore urge Wakirike politicians to shun any act capable of causing violence and disunity in Wakirike, note that the election will come and go, but Wakirike will continue to exist. Let me remind all Wakirike politicians that Wakirike does not belong to any one and cannot be considered anybody personal estate.

Currently the political heat-up in the state is becoming unbecoming, let’s look at the Orashi, Kalabari region in Rivers West senatorial district, Ogoni is not left out in Rivers South East for the political or cult killing on-going in these region, her Wakirike saying we should imbibe such act hell no, after studying the scenario of Wakirike politics back 1999-2007 dark  era where Wakirike played politics with bitterness, PDP and APP battle for supremacy in Okrika and Ogu/Bolo L.G.A which precious life’s and properties where destroyed it was a right mare for Wakirike and environs. The Wakirike region was labeled as the worst region in Rivers State in terms of politics, we cannot throw away the baby with the bad water, and therefore Wakirike politicians should be a worthy ambassador.

Currently the wakirike region is fast developing especially my beloved town Ogu which is fast becoming a center of excellence in Wakirike, but if I say in Wakirike region alone is understatement but in Rivers State as whole it is too beautiful to be destroyed, therefore it is completely out of place to destroy our beloved land for the sake of March 19^th 2016 rerun election.

        I advise all wakirike politicians seeking for political office to stay clear from political sycophant, jobbers, horse traders and miscreant for they are political apparatchik that stands in the political corridor that cause mayhem. I therefore call Wakirike political seekers and there foot – match to have expectations which border on peace.

        Secondly, I urge all Wakirike youths to stay clear from being used by politicians as tools to cause mayhem in Wakirike such as snatching of ballot box, electoral manipulations and other nefarious activities to electoral violence. The scenario of Rivers State politics is becoming bloody and fearful; we pray in apex basis it will bring a political permutation.

        In conclusion I humbly urge all Wakirike extraction at home and Diaspora for a total transformation that will make Wakirike a source of pride in Rivers State, Nigeria and the World at large.

This piece, in every sense, will not only be an intriguing one but an equally thought-provoking one, particularly considering the mood the nation is. Happily, though, the Hausa/Fulani North has heralded the take-off of the (new) Buhari administration, orchestrated by an election made whole by Attahiru Jega (the immediate past INEC chairman), supported in thinking and philosophy by the Yoruba led by Tinubu, Wole Soyinka, Obasanjo, Fasholo, and home boy Rotime Amaechi, etc. to the consternation, insult and abuse of the Igbo South-East, Ijaw South-South and the so called Hausa/Fulani tool of the Middle-Belt Nigeria. Since Attahiru Jega has a score-card in terms of how he performed his duties with regard to the credibility or otherwise of how the 2015 Presidential Election was handled, that will be left until it will be discussed as a whole, hereunder.

But that having been said, we are no less inundated with series of renewed protests from the South-South and the South-East (though not from the Presidential Candidate- Dr. Goodluck Jonathan), since after the presidential election resulting into calls for referendum from the United Nations to have either the Lower Niger Congress, Biafra, the Niger Delta Congress or the Ijaws, in particular, to have a break from the Nigerian Nation in their quest for self-determination. The South-West Yoruba, the Odua people, who would have joined the Lower Niger Congress, having similar feelings before now, merely stand by smiling at the rest of their Southern brothers saying that they don’t understand what they are doing. It is in that contest, we hear, Wole Soyinka gave his damnatory remark at the Igbo in his recent lecture at the Harvard University, USA where he referred to the Igbo as people who voted in the 2015 presidential election, on the basis of their appetite and hunger for money and not according to their conscience based on how it will truly help national cohesion, which he later denied ever saying. But, unfortunately, there was a mention of Igbo and how they voted in the 2015 presidential election in his lecture. This literary giant, who was so revered before now, has not told us what he actually said in that lecture, and how the Igbo were brought into the picture.

From the diatribe of Wole Soyinka against the entire Igbo race, he tended to have conjectured that his own Yoruba race voted according to their conscience for the sake of national unity and cohesion. But he forgot to ask himself whether this election would have brought more national cohesion and unity than the June 12, 1993 Presidential Election where M.K.O Abiola, a Yoruba, was voted en-mass by the whole nation where his own opponent-Dahiri Tofa was defeated in his native state of Kano. And yet the same Yoruba press, which thinks whatever is said by it must be binding on this nation, is now giving that election a new name: “below average”. Or is Wole Soyinka suffering from the same mental lobotomy he accused Sani Abacha of suffering some years back? That this highly literary colossus could not see how the Yoruba, his very own race, disowned their fellow Southerner-Goodluck Jonathan, and voted the other way just because one of their own was picked as the Vice Presidential Candidate forgetting that it was the entire South, together with a good number of the Northern parts of Nigeria that voted for Chief M.K.O. Abiola in the June 12, 1993 Presidential Election. Is this going to make Nigeria better? He forget what he used to know and said about Muhamadu Buhari, who has now become President of Nigeria by the clandestine intrigues and connivance of Attahiru Jega. We shall all wait and see what becomes of Nigeria in his political mending of the nation.

The people Etche has applauded the Senator as he visits the Obiri Etche Complex which has been under rapid renovation by him and that of the Water Utility project at their sister LGA the Omuma, they uses the event to thanked him as well as assuring him of their total support...

INEC and Political stakeholders agreed on peaceful Re-run Election 2016.

The CTC Chairman of Ogu/Bolo has assured the people of the area of a peaceful atmosphere before,  during and after the forth coming Re-run Election on March 19th 2016, He gave this assurance while speaking at the stakeholders meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) at Ogu, according to him, as the Chief security officer of the LGA, he will ensure that all the electorates participate fully without intimidation and stressing the need that the security personnels will be mobilized, he said anyone who ferment trouble will be made to face the full wrath of the law,
Isaac commended the INEC for organizing the meeting to sensitize the stakeholders to conduct themselves during the Re-run election.
He Solicited support and corporations of the people during the election and enjoin them to also advice their subjects to maintain peace before, during and after election,
Earlier the electoral officer of Ogu/Bolo LGA Mrs. Dorothy assured all political parties of a level playing ground and fruitful of their corporations to cheer a credible, peaceful and transparent Re-run election on March 19th 2016,
In their separate speeches, the Chairman People's Democratic Party (PDP) Arnold Davids and Chairman All Progressive Congress Party (APC) Chief Israel Ibom thanked the electoral officer for the meeting and be assured of their support and corporations for a free and fair Re-run election.

The Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) and Political stakeholders from various parties meet today 3rd March 2016 at the Inec office in Ogu and has agreed to conduct selfs in a peacefull manner during the 2016 State and National Assembly Re-run Election that is will hold on Sat. 19th March 2016.

RIVERS GOVERNMENT MOVES TO PROMOTE INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES

Rivers State Government has concluded plans to promote indigenous languages through effective teaching in schools across the state.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday evening after the State Executive Council meeting, State Information Commissioner, Dr Austin Tam-George said the council resolved to set up a board to work out modalities for the revival of indigenous languages.

The Information Commissioner said the State Executive Council which was chaired by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike noted that youths and children in the state hardly speak indigenous languages, hence the need to act now.
According to him, all members of the council were unanimous in supporting the need for more attention to the teaching and learning of indigenous languages.
He said the government took the decision to ensure that the indigenous languages are preserved for future generations.
Dr Tam-George added that the meeting also resolved to enhance the project monitoring framework of the administration for better project delivery.
He said that good governance issues also featured prominently during the State Executive Council as it was resolved that the Wike administration must leave lasting legacies for the people of the state.
