Re- we removed Senator Sekibo as leader of Ogu/Bolo PDP caucus due to his self-centeredness.
A junk piece circulating on social media on the above subject matter has come to our notice.
Ordinarily, we would have waved off the poorly scripted piece with a wave of the hand, but for the sake of the innocent reading public who may have been misled by the said self-styled ugly piece.
What's the truth? The Most Distinguished Sen. Dr. George Thompson Sekibo alongside other notable and noble Rivers politicians had pitched a tent with the People's Democratic Party's Presidential candidate, HE. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, Turakin Adamawa to actualize the victory of the party come 2023. The said Chieftains of the Party in Rivers State are, Dist. Sen. Sekibo, Dist. Sen. Lee Ledogo Maeba, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, HE. Celestine Ngozichim Omehia, Dist. Sen. Betty Apiafi, Rt. Hon. Dr. Farah Dagogo, Rt. Hon. Chinyere Glory, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, amongst others.
It will interest the reading public to note that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on observing the position of these Party men and women on the decision to align with The PDP Presidential candidate, ordered the removal, not the suspension of these men from their positions as leaders of their respective Local Government Areas, and instituting lesser Party officers, a situation the noble men had since made off with and moved on with the political aspiration of the party come 2023, which for them is more important to an ordinary LGA Party leadership. To the best of our knowledge, to lead the party at the LGA level was due to the fact that, they are the highest political office holders according to the Party's constitution, else what has a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic do with Party leadership at the LGA levels, these men spends their monies, time and energy to keep the party intact and victorious since 1999 till date.
We wouldn't bore ourselves with a character like Evans Bipi whose name was conspicuous in the write-up, we know the said Evans Bipi and his antecedents on how he became a member of Rivers State House of Assembly, and eventual Chief Whip in the recent tenure, which of course he knows too well that, such feet cannot be achieved without the Distinguished Senator George Thompson Sekibo, both financially and et'all. It will be too abysmal to trade words with Evans Bipi knowing his class of person in the society, well, let nature take its course as posterity speaks.
On the issue of the Senator being self-centered, selfish, and all manner of unprintable names, like we said we wouldn't trade words as it amounts to bringing the most celebrated Senator of the Federal Republic, whose intentioned and deliberate infrastructural and human capital development strides speaks for him and the entire Rivers East Senatorial District and Rivers State at large.
Evans Bipi, the PDP family in Ogu/Bolo to say the least will keep benefitting from the Distinguished Senator by all standards.
We need not enumerate the Senator's achievements, but for the benefit of doubts, let the public be informed that the Senator is not a man who sings his praises, but his works from attracting Federal projects to human capital development to educational development, etc. In all these Evans Bipi and the entire Wakirike Nation have benefited immensely. Again, for the records, Sen. Sekibo didn't only represent Ogu or Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, eight LGAs of Obio/Akpor, Phalga, Okrika, Omuma, Ogu/Bolo, Emuohua, Etche, and ............ which is by strength and landmass the largest Senatorial District in Rivers State, and the Senator no doubt has touched all these LGAs with Constituency projects.
It is said that, when you are sent to destroy your home, and you carry out the onslaught, your messenger will not trust you because if you can engage in such destruction on your own, then you can do greater danger to him in another assignment. This is the case of Evans Bipi, we are sure he will regret his action by now because he knows in his conscience of all the lies he said in that inglorious script.
We leave him to his conscience, let posterity speak for him and him alone.
