AMANYANABO OF OGU RECEIVES 1ST CLASS ELEVATION
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has elevated the stool of the Amayanabo of Ogu, HRH King Nicholas Dickson Ibiebele to a first class stool.
While handing over the official letter of elevation to King Nicholas Ibiebele in a brief ceremony, Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Governor charged the newly elevated monarch to improve on the peace, unity and cohesion of Ogu people.
The Governor who spoke through the Rivers State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. John Bazia said, "The Stool of the Amayanabo of Ogu, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Governor of Rivers State has now been recognized as a first class stool and the incumbent is hereby recognized as His Royal Majesty, King Nicholas Dickson Ibiebele, Neminibo Loko, The IX.
" On behalf of the Governor of Rivers State I wish you a fruitful and peaceful reign and know that your reign will bring development and progress to our own community and our own Ogu people."
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Sen. George Thompson Sekibo, Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District and a member of the Ogu Council of Chiefs, thanked the Governor for the elevation done both the monarch and the people of Ogu and assured him of the continued support of Ogu people and indeed all Okrikans as he embarks on his aggressive development across Rivers State.
Also present at the event were the members of the Ogu Council of Chiefs and other dignitaries among whom were Hon. Evans Bipi, Chief Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly and Prof. Atuboyedia Obianime, Special Adviser to the Governor of Rivers State on Project Monitoring.
