COURT ADJOURNS HEARING ON RIVERS STATE SERVICES COMMISSION SACK TO JULY 14

COURT ADJOURNS HEARING ON RIVERS STATE SERVICES COMMISSION SACK TO JULY 14

A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has adjourned to July 14, 2025, the hearing of a suit filed by the Chairman and members of the Rivers State Services Commission appointed by suspended Governor Siminialayi Fubara, who are challenging their removal by the Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas.

The case, which also includes the Accountant-General, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, and eleven others as defendants, was meant for the adoption of final written addresses. However, lawyers for Access and Zenith Bank requested more time to file their documents, and the request was not opposed.

Presiding Judge Frank Onyiri granted the extension and rescheduled the hearing. The claimants argue that their dismissal was illegal and are seeking redress through the court.
